A one-page summary for firms and public agencies. The privacy policy and the Data & AI statement have the full detail; if anything here seems to differ, those pages control. Questions: lexliftai.llc@gmail.com.
What LexLift is
A daily email of new California Court of Appeal civil opinions with AI-drafted briefs. LexLift is a one-person company. It is not a law firm and gives no legal advice.
What data it handles
- Inputs are public court opinions only. LexLift never asks for client information and has no place to upload it. Please don’t email any.
- About you: name, email, firm or office, practice areas and plan, kept to deliver the digest. Deleted on request, except billing records the law requires us to keep.
- No user accounts, no passwords for you to manage, and no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising cookies on the website.
Service providers
| Provider | Role | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments and the customer portal | Your billing details. LexLift never sees or stores card numbers. |
| Google (Gmail) | Sends the daily digest and handles email | Your name and email address, and the digest content |
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website and the brief pages | Standard web-hosting data such as IP addresses |
| DeepSeek | Drafts the briefs | Public opinion text and LexLift’s own instructions and drafts only — nothing about you |
| CourtListener (Free Law Project) | Source of new opinions | Search requests for public opinions; nothing about you |
DeepSeek says it stores data in China and may use inputs for training, which is why only public material is sent to it. Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI are used for internal testing and building, also with public material only.
How briefs are delivered
- The digest is a plain email with links. Each day’s brief pages sit under a long, unguessable web address, served over HTTPS and marked so search engines don’t index them.
- A brief page is self-contained: it doesn’t load trackers or outside scripts.
Limits, stated plainly
- No SOC 2 or similar audit. LexLift is too small for one today.
- LexLift is not set up to protect privileged or confidential material. If client information reaches us anyway, we delete it when we notice.
- If information LexLift holds about you is ever exposed, we will tell you promptly.
Paperwork
Firm plans have one flat monthly invoice; the Public Agency plan is invoiced yearly per office. A W-9 is available on request.
